Measure the length of the door (use MM) and calculate expected gas strut length.
In the case of measuring a hatch door, this is typically the top side to bottom side measurement. In a boot lid or bonnet application, this would be the measurement from the back side to the front edge.

Gas Strut Length is calculated by taking the measured length of the door or hatch and multiplying it by 0.60. As an example, a 1000mm door or hatch would need a 600mm gas strut (1000mm multiplied by 0.60 gives 600mm).
